Overview:

As a Pre-Sales IP & Optical Solution Engineer with expertise in DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing), IP-MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching), and SDN (Software-Defined Networking) competences, you will play a pivotal role in driving the pre-sales process by offering comprehensive technical support, solution design, and guidance to the sales team. Your profound understanding of optical networking technologies, coupled with SDN principles, will be instrumental in crafting innovative and tailored solutions to address customer needs effectively.

Responsibilities:

Technical Consultation: Collaborate closely with sales teams to grasp customer requirements and challenges pertaining to optical networking solutions. Provide expert technical consultation and guidance to devise suitable solutions aligning with customer objectives. Solution Design: Architect end-to-end optical network solutions incorporating DWDM, IP-MPLS, and SDN technologies to meet customer specifications. Develop detailed network designs, configurations, and integration plans adhering to industry standards and best practices. Proposal Development: Create compelling, customized proposals, presentations, and technical documentation elucidating solution architectures, functionalities, benefits, and implementation strategies. Clearly articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. Proof of Concept (PoC): Lead or contribute to the execution of proof-of-concept demonstrations showcasing the capabilities and performance of proposed optical network solutions, with emphasis on SDN-driven functionalities. Collaborate with customers to validate solution viability and address technical inquiries. Competitive Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and advancements in optical networking and SDN landscapes. Conduct thorough competitive analysis to differentiate solutions and position them advantageously in the market. Collaboration: Foster strong cross-functional relationships with internal teams, including product management, engineering, and professional services, to ensure alignment between customer requirements and solution capabilities. Act as a liaison to facilitate effective communication and collaboration. Customer Engagement: Engage directly with customers to present technical solutions, address queries, and gather feedback throughout the sales lifecycle. Serve as a trusted advisor, establishing credibility and rapport with key stakeholders. Training and Enablement: Deliver technical training sessions and enablement workshops to sales teams, partners, and customers on optical networking technologies, SDN principles, and their integration. Empower stakeholders with the knowledge and tools necessary for successful solution implementation.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus. Proven experience for at least 4 years in a pre-sales engineering role in Telecommunication Industries, with demonstrated expertise in optical networking, DWDM, IP-MPLS, and SDN technologies. In-depth understanding of IP routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, ISIS), MPLS, VPN technologies (e.g., L3VPN, L2VPN, EVPN), Segment Routing, QoS mechanisms, and network security principles. Hands-on experience with optical networking equipment, platforms, and SDN controllers from leading vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, Arista). Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a customer-centric mindset and a passion for delivering innovative solutions. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage multiple projects concurrently, and prioritize tasks effectively. Willingness to travel as needed for customer engagements and business requirements. Good verbal and written English proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP, SDN certifications (e.g., ONF-Certified SDN Associate), or equivalent. Work experience with one of the following vendors: Cisco, Nokia, Infinera, Ciena, ZTE, Huawei Knowledge of emerging trends in optical networking, SDN, and network automation technologies.
