Ribbon’s IP Optical Line of Business Commercial management team chart our course in the advancement of networking solutions to better serve America’s network operators.  This is a highly rewarding position to create a new, efficient Deal Desk process that will provide optimal pricing analysis and turn-around on critical new business proposals. The Americas Business Commercial Manager will shape the new Americas deal desk and truly make a difference in the successful evolution of our company. We are looking for a networking design professional with expertise in the creation of IP, Optical, Software and Services proposals.   The role will require close collaboration with the Sales organization, key customers, internal stakeholders, and top management.

Responsibilities:

Pricing Analysis Management

  • Lead and coordinate the running of cost and margin analysis on direct sales proposal. Provide feedback and recommendations to Sales, SEs, PLM and business commercial team
  • Work closely with Sales and Channel Partners to develop price lists to simplify the quoting process and improve turn-around time.
  • Develop strategy to generate & model 3-year business cases.  Develop tools to simplify and optimize the process vs manual manipulation of spreadsheets.
  • Develop strategy to properly track and archive proposals as well as define method to run analytics on proposals to help understand trends in pricing and win take rate.
  • Drive deal approval and review process in Sales Force.

Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years of relevant experiences around Commercial Finance, Deals Desk / Deals Management, or Sales Finance within the High-Tech industry
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality documents under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management skills and experience and the ability to work well with various cross-functional groups across the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work closely within a small team as well as independently.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain excellent attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of the proposal process
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with relevant software programs (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated expertise with Salesforce.com a plus, including ability to conduct sales opportunity analysis and prepare financial summary information and documentation.
  • Business and sales-oriented profile, SM or SE that would like to move to the business side - Preferred
  • BA in Electrical Engineering or other technical degree
  • Candidate shall have technical know-how in the DWDM and IP technologies.
  • Background of BizDev and sales to Service providers
