What PepsiCo Enterprise Data Operation does:

Maintain a predictable, transparent, global operating rhythm that ensures always-on access to high-quality data for stakeholders across the company
Responsible for day-to-day data collection, transportation, maintenance/curation, and access to the PepsiCo corporate data asset
Work cross-functionally across the enterprise to centralize data and standardize it for use by business, data science or other stakeholders
Increase awareness about available data and democratize access to it across the company
 

As Senior Developer within the data automation team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automation solutions utilizing tools under the MS Power Platform umbrella (e.g., Microsoft PowerApps, PowerAutomate, PowerBi), Microsoft Azure tool (e.g., LogicApps, Databriks, AzureSQL DB), Robotic Process Automation (RPA) leveraging UiPath or other informal processes within business teams. Automation of local processes will be another avenue for accelerating the growth of PepsiCo’s enterprise data asset and enhancing the value of the enterprise Data Platform. You will be working very closely with the business stakeholders as well as Data Automation Manager in identifying areas and developing solutions where automation can add business value and take data out of informal processes, institutionalize, and structure them for efficiency. You will be engaged in various automation initiatives, provide analytics and workgroup solutions that enhance productivity and eliminate or streamline labor intense work as well as focus on continuous improvement.


Responsibilities

Your day to day with us: 

  • Design and develop of new automation solutions and be responsible for on-time delivery of all required tasks
  • Partner with internal customers to assess needs and design solutions to improve efficiencies by automating repetitive and/or manual processes; improve controls through standardization of workflows
  • Lead requirements and scoping sessions with business partners to understand, define and anticipate business needs; create data and quality assurance reviews and direct stakeholders/customers in quality testing to ensure requirements have been met and design is optimized for functionality and performance
  • Plan and prioritize activities, report progress to the management on a weekly basis
  • Work with IT and key EDO & D+A pillars (Data Engineering, Data Management & Data Governance) to design the appropriate support structure and processes; execute UAT on data quality related projects
  • Design and develop MS Power Platform automation components
  • Ensure that all solutions are lightweight, scalable, completely secure, and built to an appropriate level of quality
  • Develop and maintain new and existing applications, systems, custom reports, and database structures
  • Participate in the implementation of the solution architecture, understanding and recognizing the impacts of the solution to other systems
  • Participate in requirement analysis along with business analysts, and business users
  • Create and manage Design and Technical specifications document, review, and update documentation for all application standard operating procedures
  • Collaborate with other programmers in development, techniques, and coding assignments
  • Apply industry software development standards and best practices including, but not limited to, unit test automation, code reviews, and maintaining code versions / application solutions in available repositories (such as SVN – Apache Subversion)
  • Research and recommend new and existing technologies to meet business needs, including creating prototypes, design documents, and solution designs
  • Identify areas of opportunity for new automation and continuous improvement
  • Plan and execute secure, good practice data management strategies and approaches
  • Establish and maintain related business data specifications and requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and data standards
  • Partner with business stakeholders to create responsibility matrices for end-to-end processes that impact Enterprise level Strategic Data Elements
  • Continuous improvement; provide end-user technical support and performance-tune automated processes as necessary
  • Manage work request queue in accordance with team Project Management Office (PMO) policies and internal ticket tracking EDO Support Center; ensure requests are addressed in a timely mannerCollaborate with the team on required support related to automation

Qualifications

What will you need to succeed: 

  • 6+ years of experience developing automation applications for non-enterprise / smaller business processes using RPA (i.e., UiPath) or MS Power Platform (e.g., Power Apps, Power Automate), SQL Databases and proficiency in programming languages like Power Query, Python, R, DAX, SQL and JavaScript
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Bachelor of Arts or Science in Business Administration, Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, or related field)
  • Experience in designing and building complex solutions using MS Power Platform, integrating the solution with other Microsoft and third-party services while creating custom connectors, plugins, and call APIs
  • Skill in developing efficient workflows and automations processes using Power Automate or RPA solutions (e.g., UiPath)
  • Familiarized with Microsoft Azure tool (e.g., LogicApps, Databriks, AzureSQL DB)
  • Proactive in staying updated within the latest developments in MS Power Platform (e.g., Copilot and Fabrics) and GenAi tools
  • Experience with basic reporting solutions. Ability to become familiar with visual analytic tools such as Power BI as well as data mining, process modeling/mining software, and other business intelligence tools and applications
  • Experience working in an SAFe Agile or with similar development framework.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to influence and demonstrate confidence in communications with senior level management
