Overview

Main purpose:

 

This position is responsible for leading production team of the concentrate operations ensuring all KPI’s related to manufacturing are delivered including Quality, Safety, Compliance, Delivery, Productivity, Cost and People Management

STRATEGIC BUSINESS LEADERSHIP

  • Creating Plant Capacity Roadmap: Responsible for putting together blue print for long term capacity interventions clearly identifying current and migrating capacity bottlenecks over the horizon of next 5 years
  • Flexible Manufacturing: Concentrate business provides a whole lot of opportunities for flexible manufacturing given the diversity and the range of products and SKUs to be manufactured. Aggressively seizing the opportunities to create long term and short term provisions for Flexible Manufacturing is one of the most desirable qualities with the job holder
  • Annual Operating Plans: Anchoring the formation of Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for Manufacturing optimizing on all the resources and aspects including Plant Capacity Utilization, Product Freshness and Shelf Life, Sales Plans, Manpower, Operating Expenses etc. and strategies to deliver the same in line with business requirements
  • Operating Paradigm shift for Cost Efficiency: Challenging the status quo to evolve new operating strategies for season and non-season which enable optimal plant utilization and bullet proof the unit to the loads of fixed Manufacturing Over Head costs.
  • Active Team Connect (an engaging workplace): Lead the making of a culture of ownership and teamwork in the team through active engagement with the operating teams and grievances redress.
  • Pillar Innovation and Quality: In today’s world sustaining and growing presence in the market place is all about innovation and a consistent quality. The job holder is expected to actively engage with R&D Teams to deliver the new products on time and Right First Time. Apart from that, its important to understand the major challenges to product quality and strategize corrections to change to uproot such issues.
  • Manufacturing Best Practice: Be the change agent importing best practices across locations in PWF and bottling
  • Balance the Long and Short term: Lead Monthly and Weekly and monthly production scheduling as per demand forecast.  This needs a cross functional and cross locational coordination and understanding to be applied.

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE (Key KPIs)

  • Quality – (Right First Time (RFT), Internal and External DPMO, Customer Complaints Reduction, Qualifying key Quality Audits AIBI, FSSC, GMP etc., Establish Procedures to ensure high closure rate on CAPAs. Compliance to Standard Operating Procedures. Investigating & implementing action plans on Customer Complaints received from Bottlers which are related to the manufacturing process. Ensure the timely completion of the Activity Matrix jobs. SAP & MII Transactional hygiene and timeliness.
  • Safety – Risk Assessments, Action Planning for closure of high RRN activities, Anchoring closure on action plans, compliance to the EHS Standards on shop floor. Compliance to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Compliance – Ensuring the compliance to all Global Control Standards as applicable to Manufacturing (Key and supporting controls). Embed a compliance oriented culture in the team.
  • Delivery – AOP Delivery on Production Volumes, Service Levels (OTIF), Manufacturing Schedule Adherence, Compliance to Maintenance Schedules, Line Efficiency (True and OEE).
  • Cost – Yield / Loss control, Direct Labor productivity, Manufacturing Controlled Expenses on consumables, AOP Delivery on CPWU.
  • Sustainability – Water and Electricity Usage per unit production
  • Innovation – New product development, compliance to target TAT for PWF

OTHER JOBS

  • Support Business Process Improvement (BPI) to engrain continuous improvements. Anchor several Kaizen projects periodically.
  • Support Site Master Plan formation and revision etc.
  • Culture Development - Engagement / Grievance redress, Action Planning and implementation for Site OHS Score enhancement.
  • Team Development – Skill Matrix Upgrade, Skill Versatility Number enhancement, Training Needs Identification, Trainings Plan Compliance,
  • Self-Development – Develop self as a subject matter expert in Concentrate Manufacturing. Be a site Super User in manufacturing vertical of SAP & MII.

Key Skills/Experience Required:

 

Qualification:

Minimum

Graduate in Engineering – Chemical/Mechanical/Production Engg

Ideal

BE with a diploma/degree in Operations Management with experience in FMCG

Work Experience:

Minimum

3-5 Yrs

Ideal

5-6 Yrs

 

Special Requirements:

Minimum

Hands on computer proficiency &  MIS

Ideal
Knowledge about latest quality systems like ISO, HACCP, EMS and manufacturing
