Who you will work with
You’ll work in our Manila office and across South East Asia where needed, focusing on delivering deep expertise on select transformation topics to Asia banking clients.
What you will do
You’ll focus on building expertise on select transformation themes in the banking industry and accelerating client impact by delivering your expertise in line with clients’ needs.
The current priorities include broad-based retail, SME banking and Wealth & Asset management transformations, driving digital and analytics transformation and building capabilities. You will typically lead a team of 3 – 5 consultants to help clients achieve new performance highs. You will lead the day to day execution of a client project while guiding and developing individual team members. You’ll work directly with clients – usually on site – and you’ll take ownership of the overall project and its end products.
You will make an important contribution to the analysis, design, and implementation of business performance approaches, developing tailor-made solutions and working closely with clients to ensure positive impact and sustainable results.

In a collaborative team setting, you'll work closely with others but also autonomously with little direction. Your superior analytical, quantitative and conceptual thinking skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills will ensure successful client projects and team performance.
Client project work typically includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing recommendations for presentation to client management. From there, you will implement those recommendations with client team members.
You’ll also gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm. Consultants receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues and senior leaders on their teams.
Your background
- Advanced graduate degree typically required (e.g., MBA, PhD, etc.)
- Outstanding records of academic and managerial or professional achievement
- 8+ years of experience with a distinctive record of professional achievement and impact preferably either in financial services firms or ideally in FI consulting at either McKinsey or at a tier-one consulting firm
- Preferred financial institution experience would be related to Retail, SME commercial banking, Wealth & Asset management with functional expertise across business management, strategy or transformation, sales analytics, credit modelling and analyses or data analytics
- Experience in working with cross-functional teams, and in-depth of knowledge involvement in helping frame, design and execute solutions for challenging business situations will be highly relevant
- Demonstrated aptitude for analytical and conceptual problem solving; comfort with quantitative analysis
- Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English and the local office language(s)
