TMI Episcopal! Founded in 1893, TMI is the Flagship private school of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas. It is located in San Antonio between the greater downtown area and the city of Boerne. TMI educates students in grades 6-12 and is the oldest Episcopal Church-sponsored, college-preparatory school in the Southwest. TMI offers an optional JROTC program, designated as an Honor Unit With Distinction, and 5-day or 7-day boarding for students in grades 8-12.

Located in the Texas Hill Country, TMI educates students in grades 6-12 and offers a complete college-preparatory program, including honors and Advanced Placement courses, as well as a competitive athletic program. Fine Arts electives, a nationally-ranked JROTC program, and extra-curricular activities allow students additional leadership, club participation, and community service opportunities.

Our school's mission is to develop lifelong servant leaders, following the teachings of Jesus Christ, while providing students with an excellent educational community in which to be challenged and prepared for prestigious four-year colleges and universities, service academies, and studies abroad. Our faculty's passion and commitment help students develop their full potential and give them opportunities in service and leadership.

The core values that guide our school center on integrity, learning, spirituality, compassion, and excellence. Faculty, staff, and students strive for the character, living by the TMI Honor Code. Faculty share their passion for every subject and nurture students to develop intellectual curiosity. We strive for devotion, to grow in our relationship with the Source and Meaning of our existence, living as a community that reveres God by respecting others and preserving our natural world. We teach our students empathy and compassion through service, while excellence is carried out in everything we do, from the athletic field to the classroom. Core Values:

  • We strive for Character: To instill in all the capacity to know the good, to do the good, and to love the good.
  • We strive for Wisdom: To develop intellectual curiosity and inspire self-reflection, to embrace academic excellence, and to strive for academic achievement.
  • We strive for Devotion: To grow in our relationship with the Source and Meaning of our existence, revealed in the person of Jesus Christ, who blesses us that we may share God's blessings with all.
  • We strive for Service: To instill the values of empathy and compassion for others, which are lived out in concrete acts of service in our community.
  • We strive for Growth: To develop our full potential throughout our everyday life at TMI, from the classroom to the athletic field, from the concert stage to chapel, from the parade ground to the dormitory.

TMI's curriculum and the instructional program provides a broad spectrum of opportunities and experiences. Our Middle School (grades 6-8) curriculum encourages the holistic growth of our students. Middle School classes focus on building a firm foundation of learning skills, fundamental subject-matter knowledge, and a belief in the value of life-long learning. TMI's Upper School (grades 9-12) curriculum builds on the Middle School experience and features demanding college-preparatory classes designed to prepare students for admission to the most competitive colleges and universities in the United States and beyond. The program features a liberal arts tradition infused with a 21st-century balance of global citizenship, stewardship, and technological competence, all designed to graduate confident servant leaders.

TMI truly is a fantastic academic community. Our highly qualified and dedicated faculty, themselves lifelong learners, create a vibrant learning environment through their subjects' passionate presentation. They take the time to promote intellectual, emotional, physical, moral, and spiritual development. As our students move through our program, they are inspired to discover their academic interests and are encouraged to develop their academic passions by exploring accelerated courses and specialized electives. College Prep, Honors, and college-level Advanced Placement courses challenge TMI scholars to discover the scope of their interests and abilities.
