EduCativPosted October 27, 2020SharePosted October 27, 2020 St. John's Prep, an inclusive, Catholic, Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School for young men in grades 6 through 12, is committed to educating the whole person. Our rigorous academic and extensive co-curricular program encourages students to develop their spiritual, intellectual, moral, physical, and creative potential and inspires them to honor the diversity that enriches both our school community and the world beyond St. John's. We challenge our young men to grow in faith and wisdom, promote human dignity, act with compassion and integrity, pursue justice and peace, and live lives of service to society. One person can change everything. In 1907, that person was Brother Benjamin. He believed that a school, with good at its core, could light the way. Nearly 15,000 graduates later, he is right. Our teachers work with young men (starting in sixth grade through 12th) to understand their unique goodness. And own it. Because, like Brother Benjamin, that is where change begins. One right turn creates another. Grounded in Catholic education traditions and inspired by the vision and values of the Xaverian Brothers, we strive to open the door to endless possibilities for students. Our teachers foster intellectual and spiritual growth, inspire a commitment to servant leadership, and nurture all of our students' gifts and talents. It happens with our youngest sixth graders to our college-bound seniors. We embrace what the Xaverian Brothers call "the common, ordinary, unspectacular flow of everyday life." Because we believe this is when young men can discover all they are capable of being and doing. You can see the results in our students and our more than 14,500 alumni who have gone on to make a difference in careers and communities around the world. The spiritual values of the Xaverian Brothers – humility, compassion, simplicity, trust, and zeal – inspire our community and call us to lives of faith and service. This year, we place a particular focus on TRUST and ZEAL. The Xaverian values of trust and zeal call us mutually help, encourage, and edify one another. To grow as servant leaders, we embrace a contemplative stance, seek to become our best selves, pursue excellence in all endeavors, and open our hearts and minds to transformational encounters with a diversity of people and experiences. In our daily journeys, we strive to live the Xaverian Way's core belief—Omnia cum Deo, nihil sine Deo. All with God, nothing without God. St. John's Preparatory School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the School. It does not discriminate based on race, color, national or ethnic origin in administering its educational policies, admissions policies, tuition assistance, athletics, and other school-administered programs. We believe diversity is a gift, a living educational resource that demonstrates the interconnectedness of life, inspires critical thinking, promotes compassionate action, and prepares students for the dynamic world beyond St. John's.View full schoolQuoteLink to commentShare on other sitesMore sharing options...
