Our first step towards a degree from Resurrection University begins here. The first steps of your journey toward a degree and a healthcare career begin here. There is one crucial aspect you should know when it comes to our undergraduate programs: Resurrection University is an “upper-division” or “transfer” university. The best way to view us is that we are like the final two years (junior and senior years) of a four-year university. Thus, we only have upper-division classes specific to your program of interest. In other words, if you are interested in the Nursing program, you will only take Nursing classes at ResU. For admission into our undergraduate programs, you will need to take general education and other program pre-requisites, or what is equivalent to your freshman and sophomore years, at another regionally-accredited institution like a community or junior college and transfer in those classes and credits.
Resurrection University has helped thousands of students manage the cost of earning a degree. Paying for college is a challenge. At Resurrection University, we understand, and we do our best to help. In 1911, a few physicians from the Chicago suburbs of Oak Park and Austin decided that their communities needed a hospital. Under the leadership of Dr. Charles E. Humiston, an Austin physician and president of the Illinois State Medical Society, a committee was formed, funds were raised, the land was purchased, and the West Suburban Hospital's cornerstone was laid on April 12, 1912.
