As we work to prepare men and women to become successful, responsible citizens in an increasingly interconnected world, we also are transforming this institution. Our new Study-Away Commitment assures all entering freshmen a broader experience of their world by guaranteeing them a study-away experience in their junior or senior years, regardless of their financial capacity.
Our new Servant Scholars program will encourage our most motivated students to study and serve their community as part of a residential learning/living experience housed in a historic, beautifully restored apartment building midway between campus and downtown. We aim to transform both their lives and our community.

The oldest private college in Georgia, LaGrange has a rich history spanning more than 175 years.
In 1831, LaGrange began as a women's academy that was housed in a large white building just down the street from our current campus. A few years later, in 1851, we moved to our present location on "the Hill," which is the highest point within LaGrange. We became LaGrange Female College in 1851, then LaGrange College in 1934. The school officially became coed in 1953.
LaGrange has retained Methodist ties throughout its history. Today LaGrange College is part of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church.
LaGrange College has an established campus-wide Safety Committee charged with the assessment and improvement of safe practices and safe environments across the College. No community's security plan can be effective unless everyone in the community contributes to making it work. Safety and security are both personal and shared responsibilities. Only by accepting this responsibility can members of the community maintain a safe and secure environment. Reporting of Crime and Safety information by LaGrange College by the Fed¬eral Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990, also known as the Clery Act, contains policy statements and crime statistics for the LaGrange College.
