Tennessee Wesleyan University strives to help students be more. With over 30 undergraduate majors, TWU provides a wide range of studies to help each student achieve his or her individual dream. Tennessee Wesleyan also offers two online Master’s degree programs to help working adults advance their careers: a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Curriculum Leadership. Faculty, staff and students combine to form a community of learning, dedicated to the advancement of the college and all of our students. With a 12:1 student to faculty ratio, TWU ensures each student receives personalized attention, allowing each student to grow personally and professionally. Our academic programs allow students to participate in fieldwork, internships and study abroad opportunities, providing a hands-on experiential learning approach.

Through strong academic programs, service-learning opportunities, student organizations and athletics, TWU helps students become enlightened servant leaders who believe in serving others, pursuing knowledge and leading by example.

Tennessee Wesleyan is a member of the Appalachian Athletic Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and features more than 20 athletic teams for men and women. In addition to athletics, students can participate in more than 25 clubs and student organizations, providing students opportunities to grow their leadership skills and foster relationships with fellow classmates.

TWU’s main campus in Athens provides a park-like setting, with easy access to downtown Athens and the surrounding area, while the satellite locations in Knoxville and Cleveland provide convenience to students in our nursing program and Management Excellence degree completion program. In addition to our three instructional sites, TWU offers several online options, including an RN to BSN program and our graduate degrees. At all three instructional sites and in online courses, TWU provides individualized attention and support for every student, helping each one to be more.

Tennessee Wesleyan offers undergraduate degrees in more than 30 majors and concentrations, and all can be completed in four years. We also offer a graduate program and a degree completion program specifically designed for working adults to finish their degree. In addition to traditional on-campus courses of study, we have some courses available online as well. We have a program for you. Whether you're a traditional undergraduate student or an adult returning to school, you've got this at Tennessee Wesleyan.

We award Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Music Education degrees, with several more undergraduate programs planned for the near future. Are you interested in more than one thing? Our interdisciplinary program allows you to combine classes from multiple majors into a specialized path of study.

Want to have an internship study abroad or participate in service-learning opportunities. At TWU, you've got this. You will have multiple opportunities to expand your education beyond the classroom and to apply what you have learned to real-world settings and situations.

Tennessee Wesleyan offers a graduate degree program: an online Master of Business Administration. This program will provide you with the education and skills to advance your career into leadership positions. The Master of Business Administration with a concentration in management provides education in management and advanced business skills to prepare students to advance into managerial roles, while the MBA with a concentration in accounting prepares students to take the CPA exam and to hold advanced careers in accounting.

Our online and adult programs are designed to serve non-traditional students. With many online course offerings as well as our adult degree completion program, we have an option for you to continue your education or finish your degree. Our programs are specifically tailored to allow working adults to take classes on their schedule.

A college education is an investment in you and your future. We believe students shouldn't be barred from a quality education because of limited resources. Our financial aid specialists will make every possible effort to provide you with the maximum amount of assistance.

More than 85 percent of TWU students receive some form of aid, including work study programs and a large variety of scholarships. Grants and gifts received by the college through the generosity of the United Methodist Church, foundations, friends, alumni and others help to reduce the difference between the actual costs of providing a quality education and the tuition charged.

Our Financial Aid Office works to make it possible for students to receive a Tennessee Wesleyan education without taking on a large financial burden. Altogether, we distribute more than $20 million a year in aid to qualified students.
