Located at Darsait, Muscat City, in the dynamic, progressive, and forward-looking land of Sultanate of Oman, Indian School Darsait, a dream come true for many enterprising expatriate men and women with a vision of the future, came into existence in 1992. The dual advantage of maintaining the cultural identity and the ability to orient to face the admission process to the professional courses has made it an instantly sought-after educational center. ISD started as part of Indian School Muscat, blossomed as an independent entity in 1995, and moved into the present premises in 1998. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE), India and offers English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Psychology, Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Multimedia, and Web Technology and Marketing to the Higher Secondary Students.
To enhance the quality of education and to improve the infrastructure facilities, the School Management Committees have selflessly dedicated their sincere service to this institution in various capacities. It is due to their foresight and strategy that Indian School Darsait, today, stands second to none in the Sultanate of Oman. The hard work and dedication of the teachers, parents, administrative and support staff over the past twenty years are equally praiseworthy.
Indian School Darsait has been imparting quality education for the last 25 years in Muscat and the prestigious alma mater celebrated her silver jubilee in 2017. It is a CBSE-affiliated school with NABET accreditation, which is the synonym of quality education and value education. ISD is a well know Indian community school in Oman and is enriched with active parent support in all walks of the school. To move along with the modern concept as well as the CBSE curriculum, ISD has already in the digital campus world. ICT is well equipped with modern E-Administration and learning systems. The school connects parents, students, and staff with E-connections. An environmentally friendly school with great initiatives of HSE.
ISD strongly believes that quality of education is possible only when the teachers are connected to the changes that are happening in the education sphere. Training the faculties is one of the KPIs of the school and giving more focused training to the teachers with a scheduled plan. Train The Trainer – TTT, which is the concept adopted by the school, shows commitment towards this important characteristic. The school has started promoting in-house talents for training with great ownership.
ISD believes, academics is the prime activity of the school, at the same time, needs to bring the talents of the students to make them more competent as well as confident in the fast-growing world. “Catch them Young” a strategic plan has been already introduced in Silver Jubilee year with a vision to inculcate the sports culture among the students. A six-year long-term plan has already been in place and all stakeholders are in the right direction to achieve this.
ISD has been suffering from a lack of facilities like state of art music & dance rooms, track and field amenities, School Band, qualitative administrative offices, etc. ISD, even with all her limitations, has been marching forward towards the vision and mission for better deliverables to the community and bringing educated, cultured good human beings for the future.
Each Child is like a flourishing sapling that requires care and nourishment to blossom. It will be our constant endeavor to provide ample intellectual stimulation to ignite the young minds to think and help them to flower into responsible citizens of tomorrow. Just like every plant requires pruning to give it a decisive shape, young minds need to be tethered so that they don’t go astray. It will be our constant effort to imbibe within our children the values and ethics that they will carry forever. Individually and collectively let’s work to serve the cause of education, for the betterment of the coming generation so that they live in a world where “knowledge is free and the head is held high where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls”. Let our boys and girls grow as world-class citizens – a generation of eminent thinkers and wise planners contributing to better world order. What exactly is our wish and that exactly is our dream.
