Our intention at Ysgol Cymerau is to create a happy and safe environment, where everyone does their best at all times, where they enjoy themselves, are enthusiastic, take care of each other, and derive pleasure from learning.
Amid all the planning, analyzing, and working to raise standards, some important points must be borne in mind. Children who are happy work better because they feel secure. If they are respected by their parents and teachers, they show respect in return and are more eager to please. We also endeavor to ensure that we are always prepared to listen to children and be fair. This does not mean treating every child the same at all times. Every child must be treated according to his/her needs and own personality. Some children are shy and require one-to-one praise while others enjoy public attention. With some children, a raised eyebrow is sufficient to get them to behave appropriately, some will require a quiet chat and some will have to be punished if they misbehave regularly. We aim to respect the ideas of every adult and child at the school, further encouraging the practice of supporting each other in every aspect of school activity.
If you are the parent of a child attending the school for the first time, we would like to welcome you as parents and look forward to a happy and constructive collaboration during the years to come. If you already have a child at the school, we are pleased to maintain this link with you. This prospectus provides information about the school, its aims, curriculum, and activities. The information contained in it is correct at the time of publication. It should not be taken for granted, however, that there won’t be changed during the year or in the years to come.
