We aim to allow every pupil to develop to be confident and independent learners. Learners who celebrate their success and are aware of their strengths. This all in a homely and positive environment which is based on our values of friendliness, respect, fair play, and care.
Ysgol Bro Lleu’s Parent-Teacher Association is formed of teachers, parents, and friends of the school who give up their free time to help raise funds for our children. All parents of children at the school are welcome to join the committee. Throughout the school year, we organize a variety of fundraising and social activities, which include the Summer Fair, the Christmas Fair, Activities, and Discos. These activities have a dual purpose: to raise funds and to bring parents, children, and staff together in a social atmosphere. Without your help and support, these events wouldn’t be possible.
Every member of staff at Ysgol Bro Lleu must monitor and ensure the safeguarding of the pupils in our care. Each staff member has undertaken a Child Protection course, as well as a ‘Radicalisation’ Awareness course. The Headteacher, Deputy, and Safeguarding member of the Governors have undertaken an advanced Safeguarding course, with the Headteacher also completing an FGM awareness course.
If you have any concerns regarding the welfare of a pupil, be it at the school or home you must inform the Safeguarding officer at the school – Mr. Gerallt Jones, Headteacher (In his absence Mr. Gareth Edwards, Deputy Headteacher). The Safeguarding member for the Governors is Mrs. Sara Evans.
The school must act upon any information it receives regarding the welfare of pupils. We can assure you that we follow the strictest legal policies in regards to dealing with any information we receive.
The Headteacher is to be contacted immediately if you suspect a member of staff of any Child Protection issues. You should contact the Chair of Governors (Mr. Iwan Williams) and Mrs. Sara Evans if you suspect the Headteacher of any Child Protection issues.
