The school is an English Medium Non-Denominational Mixed Primary School, maintained by the Cardiff City Council Education Authority. The school has a predominately Christian ethos but other world religions are embraced. At Pencaerau Primary School we have a vision of a school that is:

Pupils will be encouraged to think outside traditional stereotypes and to participate in all areas of the curriculum.
