Ramon Llull University (URL), located in Barcelona, is a private, not-for-profit university with a Humanist and Christian inspiration and promotes public service. Its main aim is to provide quality, personalized education to respond to society's needs.

URL comprises 11 higher education and research institutions with a long tradition and a prestigious reputation in Catalonia (IQS, Blanquerna, La Salle, Faculty of Philosophy, ESADE, Pere Tarrés Faculty of Social Education and Social Work, School of Tourism and Hospitality Management Sant Ignasi, Ebro Observatory University Institute, Vidal I Barraquer Mental Health University Institute, Borja Institute of Bioethics and ESD Higher School of Design, an affiliated center). It is one of the most innovative teaching institutions in Catalonia and Spain, promoting academic and research excellence.

With its methodology integrated within the European Higher Education Area, URL prepares future professionals using a comprehensive training program in each of the areas of knowledge and promotes mastery of the new technologies using a methodology based on students applying their skills in small working groups and a close relationship between students and teaching staff.

URL has internship agreements with more than 4,000 companies and institutions around the country and more than 200 agreements with international companies, and 526 agreements with universities worldwide. This dedication to research and internationalization is strengthened even further within the context of the Aristos Campus Mundus 2015 project, which URL is carrying out jointly with Deusto and Comillas universities and recognized in 2011 as a Campus of International Excellence (CIE) by the Spanish Ministry of Education as part of its CIE Programme, quality seal that was renovated in 2013 and 2014 and finally granted in December 2016.

The Mission of our University, as defined in its ideology, is achieved through teaching, research, and knowledge transfer, specifically:

• According to the specific methods and requirements of university education in the internationalization of studies, teaching critically and creatively.
• Training university students in a profound ethical sense of the profession, in a spirit of solidarity and service for a fairer society.
• Attending to the continuing training of professionals, according to their principles and orientations.
• Within the scope of knowledge that it covers, cultivating free and high-quality scientific and technical research to benefit society and dialogue with the various disciplines.
• Transferring research results through the dissemination, enhancement, and transfer of knowledge.
• From its own culture to dialogue, understanding, and exchange between different cultures and among the people who carry these cultures, regardless of their origin or condition, and promoting equal opportunities.

The University is founded on recognizing academic freedom, which encompasses teaching, research, and study freedom, inspired by and entirely consistent with the founding ideology.

Catalan is the own language of Ramon Llull University. Catalan and Spanish, both of which have been declared as official languages in Catalonia by the Spanish Constitution and the Statute of Autonomy, are used. The right of all members of the university community to use these two languages shall be respected. English shall be promoted as a third language.
