In the first years of life, young children develop a sense of themselves and their place within the community of learners. In our Early Learning Centers, our focus is on:

• the practice of relationships
• strengthening the processes of learning
• developing positive dispositions to learning

These aspects provide a strong foundation for later success and accomplishment in both the academic and social worlds. The young child's image as strong, capable, and curious informs the educational experiences provided for the children. Our educators believe that childhood is celebrated as a time to play and participate in the Jewish Community's rich cultural and religious traditions.

We create 'slow time' and a 'home away from home' where children, educators, and families learn new things together. The focus is on process rather than product and on building self-respect, others, and the environment. Our Early Learning Centres are the entry point into Moriah College and, as such, provides a unique contribution to the College mission statement.

We strive to foster critical thought, cultural interests, tolerance, social responsibility, and self-discipline. Moriah aspires to achieve excellence in academic standards. However, she maintains and promotes among its students an awareness of and a feeling for Jewish traditions and ethics, an understanding of and a positive commitment to Orthodox Judaism, and identification with and love for Israel. Moriah creates a stimulating and caring environment for each student, provides a rich Jewish social and cultural experience, and offers wide-ranging support services for its students, including support programs for children with special needs and careers information and advice.

Moriah College is an independent, co-educational Modern Orthodox Zionist Jewish school, which prides itself on providing the highest standard of Jewish education.

Abraham Rabinovitch, an extraordinary man with an extraordinary dream, envisaged a Jewish school in Sydney to rival any on the broader community – a school where every child, regardless of academic aptitude or financial standing, would have access to both an excellent general and comprehensive Jewish education.

From its beginnings in 1942 with a single class in Glenayr Avenue, North Bondi, to its current home on the spacious Queens Park campus, Moriah College continues to grow and prosper and has most probably exceeded even Rabinovitch's expectations.
