Jönköping University is a young professional-oriented university characterized by a high degree of internationalization, an entrepreneurial spirit, and extensive collaboration with society. It is one of three Swedish private, non-profit institutions of higher education with the right to award doctorates. Jönköping University has around 11,000 students, of which 2,000 are international students. The University is one of the top universities in international student exchange and among the best in Sweden to attract international students. The campus has a truly international and academic environment with students and staff from all parts of the world. Both within education and research, Jönköping University has close cooperation with business and society.

Jönköping University is one of three Swedish private, non-profit institutions of higher education with the right to award doctorates. JU operates based on an agreement with the Swedish Government and conforms to national degree regulations and quality requirements. The University is organized as a non-profit corporate group with Jönköping University Foundation as the parent organization and six wholly-owned subsidiaries:

The University offers 80 programs and specializations on Bachelor's and Master's level and prepares students for working in an international context. Focus areas within research are entrepreneurship and renewal technical expertise and know-how to small, medium-sized, and large companies' health, care, and social work from a holistic perspective and conditions for education and communication. Jönköping University also conducts commissioned education and research and offers preparatory programs called Pathway programs, designed for international students. Jönköping University is entitled to issue doctoral degrees in the disciplinary research domain of humanities and social sciences. Within technology, the university issues licentiate and doctoral degrees in the field of Industrial Product Development.

Jönköping University gives you access to students with the right skills. There are many different ways to work with our students. Here are some examples; you will find more information in the menu to the right. In some courses, students collaborate with the business world. One example is Advanced International Marketing, Trade, and Export Management at Jönköping International Business School. In this course, JIBS students work directly with Swedish companies to assess how their products might be marketed in various international markets. This collaboration allows students to come into closer contact with the business community and work directly on a project. At the same time, our partner SMEs can take advantage of the students' skills to internationalize their business activities. The students are placed in international teams and the winners of the "Expanding Markets Award" share a cash prize. The Career Center provides all students with a meeting place between professional life and Jönköping University. Career Center aims to strengthen students' opportunities for successfully finding appropriate employment upon graduation.

Jönköping University has an overriding international profile, and here, students, teachers, and researchers are offered an exciting international environment both abroad and on campus. Jönköping University has a long-term ambition to become an international university. The fact that the University competes on an international market also strengthens the region's attractiveness and growth. Jönköping University is one of the top universities in the country in terms of international student exchange and Jönköping International Business School is ranked the most international business school in Sweden by URANK, and is accredited by international quality assurance systems EFMD (EQUIS) and AASCB. Jönköping University is among the top in Sweden to attract international students from countries outside the EU/EEA. The University offers educational programs entirely in English at all educational levels, including undergraduate studies.
