The University College of Southeast Norway (USN) is Norway's largest state-owned university college, measured in students' total number. Rector Petter Aasen heads USN. Approximately 20,000 students and 1,500 staff, spread over eight campuses: Drammen, Vestfold, Kongsberg, Ringerike, Bø, Notodden, Porsgrunn and Rauland. USN aims to have a regional foundation, and with eight campuses, we have a strong and clear presence in one of Norway's most exciting and dynamic regions. On 1 January 2016, USN was established when Buskerud and Vestfold University College merged with Telemark University College. The University College of Southeast Norway is an accredited higher education institution.
Several of Norway's most advanced companies are located just a stone's throw away from the campus. Many would say that Kongsberg is Norway's technology hub. USN works closely with outstanding researchers, industry leaders, and entrepreneurs. With beautiful scenery, the right student environment, and varied nightlife, Kongsberg is a great place to be a student.
The campus is just a short stroll from the city center and the train station. At the Kongsberg campus, you can enjoy modern facilities with great classrooms and new equipment. Campus, also called KRONA, is a gathering place for everyone in Kongsberg, with a new library and a concert hall. Our largest auditoriums are also our city's cinema, with custom laptop tables for USN students.
